The procedure takes place under a local anaesthetic and is therefore painless. The incision is carefully planned just before the procedure because the cut and amount of removed skin will determine the aesthetic result and shape of the eyes.
The cut is directed so that your eyes maintain their natural shape and the ugly “rounding of the eye” is avoided.
The doctor makes the incision with the instrument Surgitron, gently removing the skin on the upper eyelids and where necessary, also removing and spreading fatty bags. Then the skin is gently stitched in the fold with an intradermal stich.
The procedure lasts about an hour.
The cut of the skin of the upper eyelids runs through the fold line and is done with the surgical instrument Surgitron, which has unique advantages of a classic scalpel.
The swelling is mild, there may be slight bruising. The swelling will subside after three days.
An occasional pain that you may feel the first day can be treated with common analgesics, for example Parelen. Apply cold compresses.

Stitches are removed 7 to 9 days after the procedure. After that period you may use make-up.
